Shiri & Dante’s Wedding Photos – Part Two – Marrakesh House, Culver City

I have this rule about editing when Im grumpy. I generally don’t do it. I like to give good vibes into all the photos I touch :) Unfortunately in the last few weeks, I’ve had to make the decision to either cheer up or edit anyway. My computer crashed a few weeks ago so I’ve been just a little behind.

My point here is that while I was grumpy editing, I came across some of the photos of Dante and Shiri and found myself literally laughing out loud. Dante is hilarious. I think it drove him crazy to just look at the camera and smile or maybe he was trying to get a reaction from Shiri, but either way, the photos of their expressions are priceless.

Dante not only entertained us with his goofy poses, he also showed his softer side. For a big-time bouncer at a club in Hollywood, he sure wasn’t hesitant to show emotion, so cute! Actually both Shiri and Dante have someone rough and tough exteriors but, after getting to know them, I’ve realized they are amazingly sweet and have huge hearts.

Shiri & Dante’s Wedding – Marrakesh House, Culver City

The lovely Shiri and Dante got married a few weeks ago at the Moroccan themed Marrakesh House in Culver City. The Marrakesh house is a beautiful venue for weddings and event that is environmentally friendly, go them!

I got to hang out with Shiri and her ladies at the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills in the morning, she looked AH-mazing! Big shout out to Jacqui & Theresa for rocking the hair and make-up. Check out some of favorites from the getting ready and there’s a lot more on the way :)

When I first started shooting weddings, I teared up at almost every single one. It’s no secret that I’m an extremely emotional girl, but as the weddings become more frequent, I got better and better about holding myself together. I thought I had it all figured out. During the father daughter dance, I force a smile. During the vows, I tell myself, “this is a happy time, this is a happy time.” Yeah, I know…I’m a sucker.

Reid and Brianna had the power to make me cry at the most unusual time…the bride and groom portraits! It’s hard to explain what got me, but they are a very chill, non-dramatic couple. To see them be so excited, so genuinely happy to be married, and to be part of that moment, was emotional. You’ll see more of that in part two, but here are some of my favorites so far.

Most of the weddings I see are beautiful, classy, feminine, etc. The inspiration varies from super traditional, to modern, chic and the the ever-so-popular vintage. I personally am a huge fan of all of those, but love when there is a not-so-girly, funkdified twist. It’s really fun to shoot details that the groomsmen are actually excited about.

These ties are the perfect example of that. They add a masculine, funky, and hip touch that am sure most guys would be happy to sport. Wouldn’t they compliment a group of James Dean looking hotties?

2010 Wedding Inspiration – J. Crew Bride & Bridesmaid Dresses

From what I can tell, 2010 is going to be bananas. I am beyond excited about the new wedding style trends. I am hoping for lots of gigantic accessories, obnoxiously funky headpieces, crazy bridal party props, a plethora of to-die-for Louboutins.Clearly I am a bit obsessed with accessories, but I notice most brides keep it simple. I saw this J. Crew look book page and fell in love the jewelry. As I was looking through the spring collection I noticed how beautiful all the accessory goodness looks with a simple gown. Not only that, I love J. Crew bridesmaid dresses. I know they are not the most flattering (form experience) but these ones just might be…So cute! All photos were taken from J. Crew.com.
